A balance, an item and a payout are not interchangeable. These definitions explain the words
used in our guides, with a practical example and links for the details.
Trade offer
A proposed exchange of Steam inventory items. An offer must be accepted before the exchange proceeds; Steam Wallet funds cannot be included as items in an offer.
Check the exact items and counterparty in Steam before approving the offer. A profile comment promising payment is not part of its contents.
Steam’s extra account-security layer. A sign-in from an unfamiliar device requires an additional verification step through email or the Steam Mobile app.
An email-based Steam Guard setup is not the same as having the mobile authenticator active.
A delay between acceptance of a trade and delivery of its items. It differs from Trade Protection, where supported items arrive but have temporary restrictions.
Read whether the message concerns delivery of an accepted trade or the later availability of an item.
Steam’s reversal system for supported item trades. Its current FAQ describes received CS2 items as protected for seven days: usable in game, but not transferable, consumable or modifiable during that period.
Use the restriction displayed for the actual CS2 item. Do not assume Rust or TF2 uses the same system.
A separate Steam inventory item property that allows a sale on the Steam Community Market. It does not mean the item can be traded or sold immediately without account restrictions.
A market sale and a trade offer use different item permissions.
Gross is the amount before the deductions entered in a quote. Net is what remains after those deductions. Both must use the same currency or balance unit to make a meaningful comparison.
A 100-unit sale less a 5-unit sale fee and a 2-unit withdrawal deduction leaves 93 units.
A fixed fee is an amount. A percentage fee is a proportion of its stated basis. Read which amount the provider applies the percentage to before calculating.
A 2-unit fee and a 2% fee produce different deductions as the sale amount changes.
A manual code is text entered through a site’s promotion process. A referral link is a URL that may associate a visit or signup with a referrer. Their recorded values and conditions are separate.
A referral URL can contain an identifier that differs from the manual code printed on a partner card.
A stated amount of qualifying activity required by an offer. The multiplier needs a basis, such as the bonus alone or deposit plus bonus, and may depend on contribution rules.
A 20× requirement on a 10-unit bonus describes 200 units of qualifying turnover. It does not predict the result of that activity.
The proportion of activity that counts toward a stated requirement. A contribution rate is part of the offer’s conditions, not a prediction of winnings or losses.
At 25% contribution, 40 nominal units add 10 qualifying units toward the requirement.
A record that a public document was reviewed on a stated date. It establishes what the document described within the stated scope, not the result of a transaction on a personal account.
A public reward description does not establish that your account can claim it. Read the recorded limitations.
A status indicating an unfinished process. Its meaning depends on the operator, payment method and stage; it is not a universal duration or a diagnosis.
Keep the exact status and request ID. Ask which action or review is outstanding for that request.
Use the help finder for a specific problem. An operator may use familiar words for a different
balance or process, so its current definitions and account screen remain part of the check.
