THE KEY POINT
A displayed price and the amount you receive may describe two different things.
01
Ask for the complete breakdown
Steam’s Market FAQ describes transaction and game-specific fees. For another service, use its own published terms and the actual confirmation screen; do not assume that Steam’s fee rules apply there.
- The starting price and currency.
- Every fee or deduction displayed.
- Whether a fee is already included in the quoted number.
- The resulting balance type and final amount.
02
A calculation example, not a platform quote
Suppose a fictional quote starts at $100 and lists separate deductions of 4 and $2. The arithmetic is 100 − 4 − 2 = $94. These are invented numbers used only to explain the calculation; they are not any partner’s current rates.
If a quote already says its amount is after fees, do not subtract those fees a second time. Ask the service to clarify ambiguous wording before relying on the number.
| Starting amount | $100 |
|---|---|
| Deduction A | $−4 |
| Deduction B | $−2 |
| Net amount | $94 |
03
Save the quoted terms
Keep the quote, currency, time and any disclosed conditions in the same record. A later screenshot of a different quote is not a reliable substitute for the one tied to your issue.
BEFORE YOU CONTINUE
Quick checklist
- Fees are itemized.
- No fee counted twice.
- The final amount and balance type are clear.

Need the details for a particular website?
The code directory records each partner’s code, referral method and offer status. Use the relevant partner page when your question also involves one of those details.
Partner pages may include affiliate links. A listing does not confirm a reward or account eligibility.
